Since I was little I have had an abiding love for all animals but especially dogs. I have never lived one day of my life without a dog in my home and for that I feel like the luckiest person in the world. For 25 years, I made my career as a professional librarian in vastly different libraries. When the time came for a change, I naturally chose a career in which I could work with dogs.
I was so fortunate to find a mentor and friend in Lisa Tomko Druga of Animal Instincts Grooming. She taught me how to groom and how to approach all animals and their parents with professionalism and care. Lisa is the consummate groomer. Her skills in grooming and animal handling are, in my opinion, unsurpassed. I will forever be in her debt because she took a chance on me and helped me change my life.
My approach to grooming is simple. First, I believe that grooming your pet is an integral part of their good health. As your groomer, I am your partner and your resource in helping you keep your pet healthy and happy throughout your lives together. I will always be there to help you .
In order to serve you better, I am dedicated to continuing education research. I regularly attend professional seminars and research topics of importance in the health and well-being of your pet. I believe that there is always more to learn and better methods to use.
My other passion in life is animal rescue. One of the most rewarding ways I have found to use my skills is to groom shelter dogs and cats who are looking for their forever homes. The transformation of a puppy mill dog from a matted, unrecognizable creature to a lovely dog is nothing less than magical. To know that my hands were the loving hands that made this possible is humbling and profound. It makes everything worthwhile.
